Hatrick hero Sergio Aguero demands Man City keep the results coming after dramatic victory over Bayern
Hero: Sergio Aguero celebrates scoring his sides third goal of the game
Sergio Aguero is determined to continue his heroic exploits by firing Manchester City into the Champions League last 16 and back into the title race.
Aguero's stunning hat-trick, which included a dramatic winner in added time, gave City a 3-2 win over Bayern Munich which has revived their hopes of reaching the Champions League knockout stage.
The Argentina striker now has 17 goals in all competitions this season and Aguero said he aims to maintain his sparkling form and propel City back into the frame both domestically and in Europe.
"I think it was very important to win - not only for the goals but also the three points,” said Aguero. “We are very happy.
"I'm really happy to be honest. I think this season things are going great for me and hopefully i can stay the same and get more results.
"The fans enjoyed this game but I think they were a bit nervous also. It was difficult because in the first half we weren't bad but then they scored two goals that we didn't see coming.
"In the second half we pressed more and got the win.
"We have the chance to go through and we have to think just about ourselves now and try to win the game in Rome."
Aguero's team-mate Samir Nasri, who claimed the futures of many City players would be on the line if they exited the Champions League at the group stage, said they must now get the job done by winning away to Roma on December 10 – and hope CSKA Moscow do not win at Bayern Munich.
"Now we have to confirm it in Rome,” said Nasri. “We have to win there if we want to qualify and we'll still depend on CSKA in Munich.
"It's a miracle to still have a chance when we only had two points with two games left. Tonight was a miracle too.
"We made some adjustments in the second half, we played better. But now we have to win in Rome - otherwise all of this doesn't count.
"In two weeks we'll see. We showed great team spirit and hopefully this will give us a lift and we can take it to Rome.
“We have the quality - but it's always like this with Manchester City, the last minute - even when we won the league. But it's special and it's fantastic for us."
Nasri paid tribute to Aguero and said: "Every big team has a great goalkeeper and a great goalscorer. You have to have that. This year he has been unbelievable.
“The same last year but then he got his injury. This year he's fitter. When he's one on one with the keeper, you don't see him miss the target."
"Cristiano Ronaldo may be on another planet but he's up there with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. He always delivers in a difficult moment."
"I think I don't need to speak about his performance. The stats speak for themselves. He's a great player - when he's on his day he's unstoppable and tonight we needed him.
"At the moment he's one of the best players in the world."
