Ashley Young confirms that Man United were “fortunate” to pick up three points vs Arsenal

On Saturday evening Manchester United get away the Emirates with all three points after a contested
issue, which saw Arsenal overlord for expanded periods.

Particularly Arsene Wenger’s men looked far more promising to score than their opposition in the first-half, but when the whistle blew after 45 minutes neither side had got over to rupture the blockage.

And Red Devils’ winger Ashley Young thinks United were lucky to be keeping to a draw after being given the run-around in the elementary period. The midfielder detected Man United were astonished by the fact Arsenal didn’t score in the first-half.

“We felt we were lucky to go in at half-time at 0-0,” he explained to reporters.”We came out in the second half and started to play, we got the goal and I didn’t think Arsenal would score after that.
“We played on the counter-attack and got the second and might have got a third. We set out to get the three points and it’s a great result.”

He arguments: “When you come to the Emirates you know it’s going to be a tough game and you’ve got to be resilient.

“We’re playing against an Arsenal team that play one-twos around the box but every man in our team defended well, from the forwards to the back line.

“When you get three points at Arsenal it’s a fantastic feeling, the dressing room was so happy.”

It was a essential triumph for Man United, which saw them move into a Champions League place, after what can only be characterized as a unstable start to the season and Louis Van Gaal will be expecting this victory can invigorate a good run of form his side.
