Punter Places £750 Bet On David Moyes' First Season In Charge At Real Sociedad

David Moyes was appointed as the new manager of Real Sociedad on Monday night, signing
an 18-month-deal. The job is Moyes’ first since he was sacked as the manager of Manchester United and he replaces Jagoba Arrasate, who was dismissed after Sociedad’s poor start to the season.

After hearing the news of Moyes' appointment, one 888sport customer lumped £750 on Real Sociedad to be relegated from the top league in Spain. Sociedad currently sit 15th in the table and the punter could win £12,000 if the Spanish side drop down into the second tier.

The 888sport customer from Bury, Greater Manchester is convinced appointing David Moyes is bad news and has backed Sociedad to be relegated at 15/1.

An 888sport spokesman said: “Sociedad aren’t actually a bad side, having tasted European football only last season, but if Moyes’ recent record is anything to go by, this could end badly for us!”
